Join APIC and the State of Texas for a one-day live National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Training Course – customized for Texas healthcare professionals. Course registration fees are funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
The focus of the NHSN training program is to assist Texas healthcare professionals in learning to operate and enter healthcare-associated infection data into the NHSN database. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s NHSN is a voluntary, secure, Internet-based surveillance system that integrates patient and healthcare personnel safety surveillance systems.
Ensure you have the competencies to protect patients and advance your institution's infection prevention program. Attend APIC’s upcoming NHSN Training Course and receive 8 contact hours and/or a certificate of attendance at no additional cost.
Course content includes:
- NHSN enrollment process
- Data collection and data entry
- Guidance on how to effectively meet new federal and Texas state legislation
- Surgical site infection (SSI) classification
