The fundamentals of infection surveillance, prevention, and control

This beginner level course introduces the various roles and responsibilities of the Infection Preventionist. Areas of emphasis include how to prepare surveillance and risk assessment plans, regulatory compliance, preventing transmission of infectious diseases, and how to handle employee exposures. A certified and experienced faculty team presents the course with a hands-on training approach.

To receive CE credit, all participants must:

Your feedback is not only required by our CNE accrediting body, but it is vital to development of future programming that best meets learners' needs. We read every word you write. You can complete the live program evaluation from your personal computer immediately after attending the course by using the link provided at the conclusion of the program.
2. Proceed to and complete the supplemental on-line training modules by using the provided link at the conclusion of the program or by returning to this page. You are required to evaluate each module after completion. You will have 30 days (EPI 101) or 60 days (EPI 201) from the end of the live program to complete this step.
3. After the live program and on-line training modules have been completed and evaluated, you will be eligible to obtain your CE certificate of completion. Your CE certificate of completion will be issued via download and print only.

Registration fee includes attendance and course materials only. It does not include travel expenses (hotel accommodations and airfare). Course fees are shown below. Fee covers one course only.

Cancellation policy: All cancellation requests must be received by APIC in writing (fax or email) prior to the start of the course. A $75 cancellation fee will be assessed if the request is received on or before the early registration deadline. A $100 cancellation fee will be assessed if the request is received after the early registration deadline. Please submit cancellation requests to education@apic.org or fax to 202-789-1899. No refunds for cancellations received after course start date. No shows are non-refundable. Substitutes are allowed.
