Event Description

APIC and the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services are hosting a 3-day Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) 101 training course that will discuss infection prevention challenges experienced by different types of ASCs (e.g., pain care, general surgery, orthopedic, plastic, etc.). The course will teach best practices for instrument reprocessing and healthcare-associated infection surveillance. The course will also cover National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) definitions for New Hampshire reportable measures, general infection surveillance, post-discharge surveillance, and outbreak situations. This is one of APIC's premier courses, which has been delivered by experienced infection preventionists for years.

Lunch and snacks will be served at no charge to participants.

Accreditation, CEUs and Evaluation:

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

Learners who attend the in-person ASC 101 class will receive approximately 20 CEUs.

Course evaluations will be sent via an online link to the email address on file within 7 business days of the conclusion of the education program. Upon receipt, all evaluations must be completed within 30 days. After satisfying all evaluation requirements, a certificate of completion will be available to print and/or for your records indicating CEUs.

Accredited status does not imply endorsement by APIC or the American Nurses Credentialing Center of any commercial products displayed or discussed in conjunction with an educational activity.
