Networking & Communities

Where did my communities go?

Visit MyAPIC to access all of your communities and change your subscription preferences.

APIC provides multiple opportunities for interactive discussion through the use of its online communities.

  • Threaded discussions with listserv capabilities
  • News and other group announcements
  • Document library

APICList is a moderated list open to all in the infection prevention arena.  While subscription to APICList is not required to read current postings, subscribing offers the following additional features:

  • Receive postings by email - receive each posting as it is made or get the postings in daily or weekly digest formats.
Recommendation: Daily digest gets all of the messages to you in a timely manner without getting them lost amongst other mail or cluttering up your mailbox and is short enough to read through quickly.
  • Full search feature access - only subscribers may access search results
Note: You must log in to the site to verify your subscription status.

Member-only communities include many chapters and leadership groups.

Course attendees have access to communities open only to them, their classmates, and course instructors.  Access materials and share your ideas.

Accessing Communities

  • Visit MyAPIC to access all communities to which you have access.  You will be prompted to identify yourself by logging in if you are not already logged in.
  • APICList is accessible from all pages in the website by clicking on the APICList link available at the top of every page on the website.

FAQs

  • How do I log in?
You will be asked to log in only when you need to.  Additional help is available from the login page if needed.
  • How do I know which communities are available to me?
Visit MyAPIC to view the communities to which you are currently subscribed as well as all other communities available to you.  You may access MyAPIC by clicking on the MyAPIC link available at the top of every page on the website.
  • Does my chapter have a community?
If you are a current member of both APIC and a chapter with a community, this community will be available to you from MyAPIC.
  • How do I manage my community subscriptions?
Visit MyAPIC and click on Manage to subscribe or leave a community and to set your mailing preferences.  To change your email address, visit MyAPIC and edit your email address in your mail contact information.  APIC communities use the main email address on file with APIC.  For details, click here.
  • I am subscribed but not getting any email.
This can be due to any of the following:
    • No postings were made
    • You have not set up your email options
    • You do not have a valid email address on record with APIC
    • Your local network settings are blocking your mail.  APIC community mailings come from communities@apic.org.  Please ask your network support staff to allow mail to be delivered from this address.
  • My mailing is blank.
Certain older email programs are known to display a blank page.  Please switch your subscription to the daily digest option.  The daily digest has been completely rewritten to work with these older programs.  (Currently, this special edition of the daily digest is only available for APICList.  Plans are in place to extend this to all APIC communities soon.)
