Initiative Overview

For 2009, APIC is introducing new activities and features for International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW). These activities are designed to bring greater awareness to IIPW while teaching others about the importance of infection prevention—and the role everyone has to play in preventing infections.

The theme for IIPW this year is “Infection Prevention Is Everyone’s Business.” This theme will be reflected both in the kick-off event at the National Press Club on October 16 and in the other activities that will be taking place throughout the week of IIPW.
