APIC and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) provided comments to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) on CMS's proposed rule for calendar year 2013 Medicare hospital outpatient prospective payment system (OPPS) and ambulatory surgical center (ASC) payment system quality reporting programs. Comments included support for CMS efforts to align quality measures across programs in order to reduce reporting burden, and support for CMS's proposal to not add additional HAI reporting requirements in this proposed rule.
