APIC and SHEA submit joint testimony to Congress on funding for infection prevention priorities

APIC and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) submitted joint testimony to the U.S. House of Representatives’ Appropriations Subcommittee that has jurisdiction over the U.S. Department of Health &  and Human Services (HHS). In the testimony, APIC and SHEA outlined recommendations for Fiscal Year 2014 funding of infection prevention programs within HHS including the National Healthcare Safety Network (NSHN) and healthcare-associated infection, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging infections programs within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
