APIC and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) submitted joint testimony to the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that has jurisdiction over the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The testimony supported the President’s recommendations for Fiscal Year 2014 funding of infection prevention efforts within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention including the National Healthcare Safety Network, the Advanced Molecular Detection and Response initiative and healthcare-associated infection, antimicrobial resistance, and emerging infections programs within HHS.
